HISPANIC/LATINO COMMUNITY FOSTERS EXCELLENCE WITH NEW RYERSON UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE AWARDS
Call for nominations for influential Hispanics/Latino awards open now until May 31
Toronto, April 29, 2016 – Ryerson University announced today the launch of new university entrance awards for Hispanic/Latino students, supported with over $100,000 in funding from visionary members of that community. This aligns with the launch of TD Bank’s "10 most influential Hispanic Canadians" awards program, now celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The new student awards improve access to quality post-secondary education, entrepreneurship, mentorship and career guidance, and provide crucial support to students in financial need. The awards invite Hispanic/Latino students to begin a “race to the top,” with the support of their own community in Canada. At the heart of the new awards program is the connection to mentorship, both from successful business, academic and community leaders, and peers within the university. This combination of personal and financial support for up to four years at Ryerson will ensure more Hispanic students have access to the tools they need to succeed. (Read More...)
